Alentejo is undoubtedly one of the best wine regions to visit during the winter time, although the vines are naked. But the landscape always offer some green, golden and brown creating amazing patches together with the blue sky. The weather is cold but the locals are warm people that will receive you with open arms and a big smile. Enjoy your visit!

Great suggestions! They both offer fantastic food, warm friendly people, and of course, incredible wines. However, people might want to be aware that the Alentejo can get pretty chilly in the winter with temperatures hovering around 4 degrees C, but that shouldn't stop anyone from going! Despite the brisk winds, the landscape is breathtaking, and I trust a few glasses of either Touriga Nacional or Aragonês should help with any temperature variation ;-)

These all sound lovely. I've also been told that Chile is a lovely place to visit in the winter for some really good (and reasonably priced) wines. A wine tour vacation is definitely on our list of "must do" trips.
