Hello Gen – Thanks for the great cheese recommendations from Extremadura; it’s a shame that this area doesn’t get more tourism, because even though it’s vast and requires a car, it’s really fascinating.

Couple of things I wanted to add – the Mérida Theatre Festival has been known to feature great modern dance and flamenco troupes, and there’s the utterly funky and very unusual Museum of Contemporary Art in Malpartida de Cáceres, six kilometres west of Cáceres itself.
