This morning, your group will be collected by coach in Lisbon at your hotel or other pick up point and you will drive south, into the Terras do Sado wine appellation, towards the aristocratic town of Azeitão (called the Sintra of the south, referencing its many noble villas and palaces). This little area is located on the Setúbal peninsula, just west of the Arrabida national park and nature reserve. Arrive to one of the most prestigious estates in the area, where your group will be companied by the charming host. Visit the historic cellars, dating back to the 1800´s, enjoy a walk through the gardens and conclude with a sit down wine tasting lunch.
Taste authentic Portuguese cuisine, paired with estate wines such as the high end “Hexagon” wine (made with a blend of Portuguese and international grapes including Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca, Trincadeira and Tannat). After lunch, on your way back to Lisbon, stop in the charming seaside hamlet of Sesimbra where guests can enjoy some free time, stroll down the boardwalk, have a coffee or a glass of wine, do some shopping, etc.. The coach will drive guests up to the castle before leaving, bring the camera! In the late afternoon, guests will be dropped off at their hotel in Lisbon and this concludes a fantastic day out in the wine country.
