Overview of Corporate & Professional Wine Tastings
If your company would like to organize a short activity, to fill an afternoon or an evening
with a fun, informal event to relax your staff or clients, a Wine Tasting
is always a great idea. While we also offer full day excursions to wine country
(to Penedes
from Barcelona,
to Ribera del Duero
and La Mancha from Madrid and
to La Rioja from Bilbao), shorter wine tastings can also be organized for groups in the convention cities of Madrid and Barcelona.
We have a team of sommeliers who can host top class tastings, tailored to your group's
level of wine knowledge (basic, advanced, etc) at an array of city venues including:
wine shops, historic restaurants, private salons in small, luxury hotels, etc. The most
popular type of Corporate Incentive Wine Tasting we have found is the " Team Building Blind Wine
Tastings":
This wine tasting will be hosted at a famous wine shop (in Madrid or Barcelona), and will begin at
approximately 7PM. Upon arrival (transport can be organized if necessary) to the venue, guests
will be treated to a delicious glass (or 2) of bubbly and cured Spanish ham, cheese, olives,
etc. Your host will conduct the fun wine evening in English and after the initial aperitif,
you will be seated and enjoy a short wine presentation (a description of main wine regions,
grape types, etc). Your group will then be divided into teams. You will carry on to taste 5
wines, white rose and red, with the labels covered. As a team, you will have to assess the
quality of each wine (guessing the price point, which region it is from, etc), and you will
mark down your team's comments on the ballot. After the tasting, your host will give the group
a short wine quiz, of 5 questions (the answers will have been given during the presentation).
The team with the most correct answers will win the grand prize (special bottles of Rioja Gran
Reserva), and all runners up will win Crianza level wine prizes. The evening will finish around
9:30PM.
This is a fabulous corporate event, that will get your staff working as a team (who doesn't
want to wine a bottle of Rioja Gran Reserva?), and they will have a great time doing it.
