Piedmont´s Langhe region is probably one of the most picture perfect wine producing regions in the world. Barolo itself is a delightful wine hamlet, crowned with a castle and Grinzane Cavour is another village with a stunning castle where the annual truffle auction takes place. The region is beautiful year round, but autumn time is when the Langhe explodes into a symphony of colors, with undulating hills blanketed in orange, red and yellow leaves. Autumn is also the season for white truffle (black summer truffle is available in other months), and the restaurants serve rich risottos and home made pastas with hedonistic tartufi.

After saying goodbye to your charming hosts, visit Grinzane Cavour´s castle and Enoteca wine shop. Enjoy some free time to see the wine museum and perhaps pick up some great Barolos you can’t find at home. This castle is also a great photo op in Piemonte.
