9AM (or your preferred time), you will be collected at Livorno port by your driver and luxury Mercedes. Next port of call- wine country! You will begin your day in Chianti, Italy’s most famous and wine region. Your tour will begin with a visit of the main living room of the villa and the gardens, then visit the vineyards, historic winery and modern winery, followed by a private tasting of four estate wines including Sterpato, Varramista Chianti, and the much-lauded Frasca. Enjoy!
Sit back and relax as you have an hour drive. On to Castello del Terriccio, one of Italy’s most prestigious wineries, located in the Northern Maremma. You will be famished and so we have an outstanding lunch waiting for you to begin your Terriccio wine experience. Expect a convivial feast that will include food and wine pairings such as Goats cheese on roasted radicchio with balsamic vinegar and nuts paired with the Con Vento wine, Pesto lasagne with zucchini paired with Tassinaia, Terriccio's chicken breast roll (stuffed with prosciutto crudo, ham and Tuscan cheese) paired with Lupicaia 2001 and homemade yogurt ice-cream with strawberry sauce and amaretti – all washed down with Café and the Grappa di Lupicaia. Molto buono!
After lunch, tour this beautiful estate by 4X4 with your glamorous hosts and learn all about their winemaking philosophy as well as the region of Maremma. In the late afternoon, your driver will take you back to your cruise. Depending on what time you need to be back, we can arrange for some sightseeing, for example to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
