The city is full of stunning Moorish tilework, medieval cobblestoned streets leading up to a wonderful castle, exquisite 18th century palaces (some in perfect condition, others weathered), and San Francisco-like cable cars climbing up the tree-lined streets. Gastronomy and Wine are part of everyday life in Lisbon, as in the rest of Portugal, and on this unique Luxury Food & Wine Tour excursion you will experience a traditional "Solar do Vinho" (Portuguese Wine Bar), classic "Lisboeta" café life, wine tasting in fantastic Sintra and a superb lunch in a historic venue.

This fascinating and complete tour begins at your Lisbon hotel where you will be collected by luxury vehicle to begin your morning guided touring of the sites in lovely "Lisboa". You'll take in the 16th century St Jeronimo Monastery and 16th century Belem Tower, St George's castle (dating back to the Moors), and the medieval Alfama district.

A special visit to the Solar do Vinho do Porto, Lisbon's great classy, 18th-century Wine Bar. This is one of our favorite wine bars, located in a historic mansion where you can taste hundreds of ports by the glass. You'll be treated to three Port Wine Tastings as an aperitif. After seeing the most beautiful spots in the city, you'll be starving and the next stop is the charming and aristocratic village of Sintra.

Lunch will be traditional, almost certainly featuring the flagship "Bacalhau" (salt cod, a Portuguese delicacy), in a beautiful venue. The latter part of the afternoon will be full of castles and lovely walks in Sintra, where you must visit the Palacio da Pena, one of Portugal's most peculiar and beautiful palaces. You will be dropped off at the door of your Lisbon hotel at the end of the day, hopefully having had a wonderful day highlighted by terrific Portuguese wines and savory cuisine.
