We have designed this weekend for couples or small groups of girlfriends looking for a peaceful and soothing short break in Italy. The Chianti wine country is exceptionally scenic and pretty with fairy tale castles set amid rolling hills covered in vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees. Located just south of Florence, around the hamlets of Radda, Castellina and Gaiole, this is truly one of the most picturesque regions in Italy. For food and wine lovers, Tuscany has it all- ultra high quality Olive Oils; fine Sangiovese based wines; artisan Italian Cheeses like the Pecorino; even aromatic truffles- San Miniato is one of Italy’s Truffle capitals.

Tuscany is also a shopping paradise as there are so many small craft producers in this region. Fine crystal is produced in Colle Val D’ Elsa, Florence is famous for shoes and silk, Lucca is known for its handmade Toscano cigars, olive oils and lingerie, Prato is home to high end textiles, Alabaster is a common medium used by Volterra’s artists and galleries, and Pietrasanta is where some of the most exquisite marble comes from. - Upon arrival to Florence airport, your own private chauffeured Mercedes will be waiting for you. You’ll head into historic Florence for a private guided walking tour and a fantastic wine lunch to follow. You’ll start the tour at the iconic Duomo, one of Italy’s greatest architectural masterpieces, designed by Brunelleschi. Head towards the Arno River stopping off at the wonderful Piazza della Signoria, one of Italy’s most delightful squares. Pass the Uffizi Gallery and cross the Ponte Vecchio where you will enjoy a stylish lunch in an elegant restaurant overlooking the water. After lunch, you’ll visit the Palazzo Pitti and the wonderful Boboli Gardens, once owned by the Medicis

- Before heading to the Chianti hills you’ll stop at one of Italy’s best outlets for some free time to check out the shops such as Fendi, Armani, Valentino, Gucci, Ferragamo, and Yves Saint Laurent. In the late afternoon you’ll arrive to your castle hotel, a luxury oasis in wine country, complete with spa. The evening is yours to enjoy the circuit, have dinner on your own, have a walk in the vineyards, etc. There will be a welcome bottle of wine waiting for you in your room, along with your keepsake bound itinerary and a gift.

- This morning you will enjoy the hotel’s excellent Spa. The Signature treatments here include all natural ingredients including Extra Virgin Olive Oil made with the estate’s own pressed olives, local Tuscan lavender and mineral sea salts. You have a morning of bliss and indulgence ahead! Before your treatments, spend some time on your own enjoying the covered Vitality Pool, the aromatic Caldarium Steam Rooms and Ice Fountains.

- Your first treatment will begin after an hour on your own, with a relaxing foot ritual, and continue with an olive oil and clay head massage using acupressure. Next up is a fantastic body exfoliation using sun-dried sea salt and Tuscan blue rosemary and Olive Oil. Conclude your morning with an aromatherapy body massage.

- After you change and are ready, your private driver will sweep you away to the wine country where you will enjoy lunch at a beautiful estate such as Badia Passignano or Badia Coltibuono. After a delicious lunch paired with silky Chianti wines, you will receive a private and VIP tour of the estate. - Today you have an interesting day ahead! After a fortifying breakfast at your luxurious hotel, you’ll head towards the medieval village of Radda, and stop in a unique cashmere-producing farm.

- You’ll visit the farm, see the goats, receive a full background on how Cashmere is made- harvested, spun, etc. You’ll see sample of the raw fibers and then see the finished products- yarn scarves, shawls, throws, etc. This estate also produces a whole line of skincare products made with their own cashmere goat’s milk. Enjoy a short cheese tasting here of goat’s cheese of course! Before leaving the Cashmere farm, you’ll receive a small gift and keepsake of your day. Next up is a visit to lovely Radda.

- Radda in Chianti is a very charming ancient hill town with cobblestoned streets and medieval archways. You’ll have a traditional Tuscan lunch here paired with some fantastic wines such as the Capannelle estate. After lunch enjoy some free time to walk along the historic wall, taking in the breathtaking views. There are some cute little shops where you can pick up gourmet goodies, ceramics, etc.

- In the afternoon on your way back to your hotel, you could stop to visit some darling little hamlets such as Volpaia or perhaps the wine producing Meleto castle to take some photos. Tonight you have a free evening to enjoy dinner at the hotel or at a trattoria in one of the nearby villages.
