We have included two carefully selected Tuscan estates for you: one in the Valdarno and Pisan hills, close to San Miniato, and the other on the northern edge of coastal Maremma, so you can taste a range of Chianti, coastal Tuscan reds, and Super Tuscan-style wines. You will see some lovely vineyard scenery and enjoy VIP treatment at the prestigious wine estates you visit. From Livorno, you will first head to Montopoli in Val d’Arno, northeast towards the truffle town of San Miniato. You will be welcomed at the Varramista estate, one of the most picturesque in Italy. Varramista is famous in Italy for having, apart from fine wine, the Piaggios as owners (designers and manufacturers of the legendary Vespa scooter).
After Varramista, you will swing back down south, about an hour’s drive to Castellina Marittima to the gorgeous Castello del Terriccio estate, where you won’t just have a wine tour, but a wine experience! Your elegant and friendly hosts will take you on a 4×4 tour of the lush vineyards, and you will enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal paired with their fine wines. In the evening, after a fabulous and exhilarating day of food, wine, scenery, and superb hospitality, you will be dropped back to your cruise ship or hotel in Livorno. Varramista winery
Morning: You will be collected in Livorno (port or hotel) by your driver in a luxury Mercedes. Your driver will take you into the Tuscan wine country. You will begin your day in the Valdarno and Pisan hills, close to San Miniato. Your tour will begin with a visit to the main living room of the villa and the gardens, then visit the vineyards, historic winery, and modern winery, followed by a private tasting of four estate wines, including Sterpato, Varramista Chianti, and the much-lauded Frasca. Enjoy!
Lunch and mid-afternoon: Sit back and relax as you travel south to Northern Tuscany, in the coastal Maremma, to Castello del Terriccio. Sit down to a wonderful three-course tasting menu lunch paired with three wines (the white Con Vento and the reds Tassinaia and Castello del Terriccio). This is followed by a tour of the gorgeous, historic estate, including a visit to the winery, the barrel room, and parts of the village. The tour concludes with a tasting of four Castello del Terriccio wines accompanied by special appetizers. Different vintages of Castello del Terriccio and Lupicaia are available to taste.
Afternoon: After lunch, depending on what time you need to be back, we can arrange some sightseeing, for example, some free time in the pretty, seaside pine forested village of Castiglioncello (right on the drive back to the port). And that concludes your fabulous wine-tasting shore excursion from Livorno.

The old mother in the kitchen, preparing the food (like you see in movies). As for the vehicle, we couldn’t ask for any better, nice Mercedes van.
