Expert guides to leading châteaux, domaines and Champagne houses

French Winery Guide

Explore France’s wineries, region by region

France’s wine estates range from the classified châteaux of Bordeaux and the venerable houses of Champagne to family-owned domaines in Burgundy, Alsace, the Loire, and the Rhône. Our collection of 67 winery guides is arranged by region, with insight into each estate’s history, vineyards, wines, and particular appeal.

Our selection of châteaux draws on more than two decades of planning private wine journeys in France. It reflects estates distinguished by their wines, history, setting, or the quality of the visitor experience.

Many of the leading properties receive visitors by appointment only, while others are rarely open to the public. Cellar Tours can advise on the most rewarding estates, arrange private visits where possible, and handle chauffeured transport, expert guides, hotels, and restaurant reservations as part of a tailor-made journey through France’s wine regions.
