Ochoa Winery Guide
Winery Overview
Discover the excellence, innovation, and remarkable value that define Ochoa Winery, a distinguished establishment in Navarra. As one of the region’s leading wineries, Ochoa is committed to delivering exceptional quality wines that capture the essence of the land. This family-run firm, guided by the expertise of winemaker Javier Ochoa and sales director Alvaro Ochoa, sets a standard of excellence in every bottle.
The Ochoa family meticulously cultivates and hand-selects the grapes, ensuring only the finest quality fruit is used in their winemaking process. Then, with Javier Ochoa personally overseeing the creation of each wine, an authentic artisan touch is infused into every bottle that bears the Ochoa name.
Nestled within the picturesque medieval town of Olite and Traibuenas, the vineyards of Ochoa are a sight to behold. These enchanting terroirs provide the perfect backdrop for growing grapes of distinctive character. The winery proudly boasts a rich heritage that dates back to the 1800s, and while the historic facility continues to be used for oak maturation, a modern winery situated just outside Olite features state-of-the-art facilities for vinification and bottle pavilions.
The winery, while not strictly boutique, prioritizes quality over quantity. Limited production and low yields produce wines of remarkable concentration, depth, and complexity. This dedication to crafting exceptional wines has earned OCHOA international acclaim. Renowned for its superb rosado wines and great value reds, the winery has recently garnered attention for its exquisite Moscatel sweetie, captivating palates worldwide.
One noteworthy representation of Ochoa’s winemaking prowess is the Bodegas Ochoa Navarra Reserva 1997. This compelling red wine boasts luscious flavors of ripe cherry and plum intertwined with intriguing black olive and licorice notes. While firm tannins provide structure, the wine maintains an exquisite balance that enchants the senses. Limited to just 5,000 cases, this vintage is a testament to OCHOA’s unwavering commitment to crafting wines of exceptional character and complexity. Indulge in the wines of OCHOA Winery, where passion, heritage, and innovation intertwine to create an unparalleled vinous experience.
